Hypersensitivity

Disorder characterized by excessive reaction to a particular stimulus. It may be caused by different agents, and is common in oncohematological diseases because of the use of different drugs in chemotherapy treatments. The healthcare staff should always be alert and the patient informed about what may occur and therefore associate it with symptoms and signs that are clear signs of these hypersensitivity reactions. This disorder may occur within minutes of infusion of the medication or also appear later after continued treatment.
