Laxative

Agent that promotes bowel emptying.

During the course of your disease, either due to the type of tumor you have, or as a side effect of treatments received (chemotherapy, radiotherapy, surgery, etc.), you may suffer constipation; in most cases, reversible.

There are various types of laxatives. Thus, you should always follow the medical prescription you receive. Never take laxatives on your own, or increase or decreases the dosage as you think appropriate. In addition, if they are not effective or the opposite effect occurs, you should inform your doctor.

It must be remembered that use of laxatives should ALWAYS be accompanied by other hygiene measures, such as a high fiber diet, abundant fluid intake, or physical exercise according to your ability.
