Magnetic Resonance Imaging

Painless procedure performed in the radiology area to obtain images of parts of the body, which may sometimes require injecting or drinking a contrast medium.
It is performed in a cylindrical structure, similar to a tube, in which the patient is placed. Due to the powerful magnets of the apparatus performing the test, no metal objects are allowed inside the room, since they may distort the images.

Unlike C.T., MRI does not irradiate the patient because images are not obtained by X rays.
The patient is usually required not be eat or drink 4-6 hours before.
